"Ok for a short visit", this "easy-to-locate" Dutchess County hotel in Fishkill is a bit of a "relic" but "meets basic needs" with its "outgoing" staff, proximity to Splash Down Water Park (four miles) and the Dia Beacon Art Center (eight miles); "average" rooms have "tiny" baths, mini-fridges and microwaves (though some report these amenities missing), and further downers include frequently "inoperable key cards" and "run-down" public areas.

Loud housekeeping staff, poor plumbing, unsafe locks and smelly/dirty rooms.

Good service and
good breakfast.
Wished it had an indoor pool.

It was a fine, no frills, experience. Maybe not worth the money we paid mid January. The breakfast buffet was good.

The hotel was in a good location off the highway. The rooms were run down and the hotel was dated.

The price was right and conveniently located to where we needed to be.
Poor maintenance and service detracted from our stay.

Maintenance problems detracted from our stay. 2 of 3 lights were out. the electrical connection to our lap tops were not near the desk, which was not connected to an outlet. On one day of our stay the maid service left the towels and room supplies outside our door and did not come back to clean the room or make the bed and it appears that other rooms on our floor and other floors received the same attention. ...read more

It was convenient to our location. Staff corrected room problem asap.
We had several problems with our room.

Good location, convenient to family we were visiting and lots of restaurants/stores nearby. Seems to be more of a conference/party use hotel. We asked to switch rooms because when we checked into our first room, it was all cleaned and towels set out (including on the edge of the tub), but the tub drain was down and it was filled with water. Towels/soap on the side and the room cleared for check-in while the tub was full of water. My husband bravely reached in and pulled the drain stopper, however, the tub still did not drain. After 10 minutes we went to call the front desk. And our phone did not work. Checked everything. We thought we were in a slasher movie at this point. So we packed up and headed back to the front desk. They confidently assured us that the tub problem was a hair clog and moved us to another room. For their part, the front desk associate was apologetic and efficiently moved us to a slightly larger room for the inconvenience. Our new room was clean, but with a second exterior door that opened directly to the outside in addition to the one that opened to the hallway. Only additional weirdness was the housekeeping staff forgot to turn off the TV when they were done so it was creepy coming into our room at night with voices inside from the TV. Overall, besides the weird room issues, the staff was nice and the hotel was clean. ...read more

The room itself was clean.
The remainder of the facilities were dated.

The room itself was clean and the bed was comfortable. The facilities were dated. The door to our room was faulty, sticking every time. There were no pay per view movies available. The vending machine was broken. Overall a pretty average experience, maybe slightly below average. ...read more
